PRESS RELEASE: 10th Edition of the Classic Shootout
DURBAN – 24 January 2022: The 10th edition of the Classic Shootout is set to take place this February, again providing a chance for South Africa’s best track stars to prepare for the season ahead. Excitingly, Pritt has come on board as a new partner for the event, highlighting the value the Classic Shootout has for the sport of track and field in South Africa.
Pritt spokesperson, Maxime Vandiest, was thrilled to announce the partnership, saying “Any opportunity that is awarded to Pritt that allows us to connect more closely with our users, is what drives the Pritt team at its very core. We can all agree, following the many restrictions we have endured due to the pandemic, sports is what we as South African’s have missed most…so we as Pritt couldn’t be more pleased to be able to celebrate sports activities in this Shootout partnership.“
Erwin Schmidt, organizer of the event, said, “We are so pleased that Pritt has joined the Classic Shootout, and that they see what the event has to offer in terms of showcasing some of South Africa’s best track talent. We want to thank them for supporting the sport at this level.”
The first leg will take place on the 11th February in Ruimsig Stadium, Roodepoort, and the next at the UJ Stadium, Johannesburg on the 16th February. Events on offer include the 300m and 600m, which are not often run in-season, therefore providing an early season opportunity for athletes to test themselves before the World Championships and Commonwealth Games this year.
